Inner Feast
On a warm August evening, Accent Sister was transformed into a feast for the inner self. Inner Feast, a five-day group exhibition held from August 8 to 12, 2025, was co-curated by four young curators: Luman Jiang, Jinyi Freya Xu, Yvonne Yitian Xu and Shuhan Zhang. Inspired by Freud’s model of the id, ego, and superego, the exhibition used the visual language of symbols, dreams, and intuition to invite visitors on a journey of inward reflection and healing.

Here, in place of appetizers and cocktails, there was art, offered as nourishment for the mind. Each work became an emotional dish, something to be encountered, digested, and absorbed. Moving through the space felt a little like being a curious guest at dinner, except what was being tasted was not food, but the subconscious.
Drawing on Freud’s model of the psyche, Jung’s idea of individuation and the Daoist principle of wu wei, the works were presented as psychological texts to be digested rather than simply viewed: a process of feeling more than of looking.
The exhibition moved somewhere between an intimate dinner and a shared psychological experience. The artists brought their own distinct flavors to the table, together creating a layered feast of identity, memory, and dreams.
